Linhas de Torres Running Challenge

The Trail Linhas de Torres is an exciting race that takes participants along historical trails, with occasional stretches of road, through some of Portugal's most picturesque landscapes. The race celebrates the Linhas de Torres, a historic defensive system built in the early 19th century to protect Portugal from Napoleon’s advancing troops. As runners journey through the charming municipalities of Arruda dos Vinhos, Loures, Mafra, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Torres Vedras, and Vila Franca de Xira, they will experience the rich history of the region. The race offers a chance to explore the remnants of the defensive structures, paying homage to the soldiers and builders who defended the country. The trails wind through rolling hills, lush forests, and serene countryside, offering an immersive experience in one of Portugal’s most culturally significant areas.
