177.6K Virtual Freedom Run

Patriots prepare to run FREE! This year's Freedom Run has a twist of great fun!

1776 is a year for our founding fathers and we will not shy away from logging 177.6 kilometers (110.35 miles) over a 31 day period. Hammer the gavel and sign-up for the virtual Freedom Run that pushes you to get miles and join the virtual, social camaraderie that runners across the nation partake in.

Run with your American swagger and prepare to bring Independence Day celebrations in style by challenging yourself with friends to complete 177.6 kilometers (110.35 miles) starting June 4 through July 5, 2022. Are you up to getting the miles? It averages out to about 3.54 miles per day. That's right, it's what this total distance averages out to be. You can get your total of 177.6K by any combination of walking/jogging/running from June 4 through July 5, 2022 (i.e. run 3 miles today, 7 miles the next, and off the following day). The experience of this virtual event is to challenge yourself and join the social camaraderie with other runners.

What's the swagger??? This year there is multiple options. Choose from either a Brooks unisex technical tee, Brooks unisex technical run tank, or our stars and stripes trucker hat. With this race cost the swag is a steal of a deal! Don't miss out of this great swag that can be worn for all American holidays... Memorial day, Labor day, Veteran's day and everyday that you can be the loyal patriot to our lady liberty!

The NEW twist added this year is three social, group runs that will help you gain miles if you live near Carrollton, GA! We want to offer gatherings to meet other runners and the community of great running spaces. At each run you can choose your distance and miles will be marked on the path. We encourage you to pick a distance and run FREE (without a watch or tracking device). Run to enjoy your surroundings, enjoy the company, and enjoy your FREEDOM! We will have a time clock at each group run so that you can still log your distance and time. Bring your children and pets. They are all welcome!
Group Run #1: Saturday June 11 - 730am Tanner Loop, Tanner Medical Center Hospital, Carrollton, GA
This trail is shaved gravel and soft surface on a trail like terrain. 
Group Run #2: Thursday June 16 - 7pm Longview Park, Longview St, Carrollton GA
This is a great place to bring children and pets of all ages. There is a playground and dog park in this park.
Group Run #3: Wednesday, June 29 - 6pm Little Tallapoosa Park, Carrollton, GA
This park is a local campsite, possible $5 parking fee if partaking in other park activities. Great water park and playground for children, paved path for walking, running and biking with horse trails nearby. Dogs welcome.

Follow these easy directions...
Declaration #1: SIGN UP..... Now! Go ahead get that John Hancock signature ready. Bring your friends like Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin to join in with all the virtual fun of running like never before. Don't forget those friends to keep the accountability going. 

Declaration #2: Add up your PURPOSEFUL running/walking daily mileage/kilometers with the user-friendly logging form. We don't want all the extra steps you had to make it to the bathroom or the mailbox. Just when you chose to lace up those tried and true shoes and purposefully run or walk. This event offers FREE easy logging through runsignup.

Declaration #3: You can track your progress with other athletes that log through the month and follow all the pictures and fun along the way to LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!

There will be a form that participants are provided to complete for each daily run to submit their mileage to show where they are on the leaderboard.
