About the event

Race Information

Let’s wrap up 2020 with a virtual marathon! We have heard your disappointment, but know it is the responsible route to take. This year, proceeds from our race will benefit Youth Home, Inc., located in Little Rock, Arkansas, a private non-profit mental health provider.

We will be running different courses, but we will be running together for the same cause.

HOW DO YOU RUN A VIRTUAL MARATHON?
Participants will run or walk 26.2 miles at their own pace and at a time and location they choose between December 1 and January 31, 2021.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
Our online-only registration will be open from October 31 through December 4, 2020. All registrants will receive an official 2020 3B26 tech shirt. Only registrants submitting results will receive an official medal.

WHEN DO I RUN MY VIRTUAL RACE?
Participants will have from December 1 through January 31, 2021 to complete their run.

WHAT COURSE DO I RUN?
Participants will choose their own courses. If you choose to run on sections of the official 3B26 course, please be cautious. Parts of the course are not as safe without traffic control and police protection. It is also recommended that you do not attempt to run in a group.

HOW AND WHEN DO I GET MY VIRTUAL RACE PACKET?
Virtual race packets will be mailed after results have been submitted and will include a 2020 race shirt and a race medal. Shipments will ship no later than the first week of February.

HOW DO I RECORD AND SUBMIT MY TIME?
Participants can use platforms such as Strava, MapMyRun, Garmin, and the like to time their run. Submit these to [email protected] by midnight January 31, 2021.

WILL THERE BE AWARDS FOR THE VIRTUAL RACE AND CAN I QUALIFY FOR THE BOSTON MARATHON?
Since participants will be on the honor system and submitting their own finish times, we will not be offering overall winner awards and age group awards for the virtual event. Additionally, since you’ll be creating your own courses that will not be certified, you will not be eligible for Boston Marathon qualification.

MAJOR BRIDGES AWARDS
We are the Jacob Wells 3 Bridges Marathon, and we ask that you try your best to incorporate three bridges into your race route, even if this is an overpass or a little bridge over the ditch by your mailbox. Submit your best photos of the bridges and/or yourself on the bridges to [email protected] or through our Facebook page. We will offer a variety of awards, i.e. Highest Bridge, Longest Bridge, Prettiest Bridge, Most Unique Bridge, etc.

STREAKERS
Streakers, those runners who have run every 3 Bridges Marathon starting in 2013, will not lose their Streaker status, if they choose not to run with us virtually this year. Although, we really hope you will. Streakers who do run this year will be Official Streakers, and Streakers who don’t will have an asterisk (*) in true Jacob Wells fashion.
