Course highlights

It is basically a two-lap course through the central parts of Stockholm. The surroundings vary from the woods of the Royal park "Djurgården" to the streets of a big city. The course passes buildings such as the Royal Palace, the City Hall, the Royal Opera and the Houses of Parliament. The course is one of the most scenic in the world. Much of the race is run along beautiful waterways. When passing the "Västerbron" bridge, the runners will enjoy a fantastic view over a city with buildings ranging in age from the medieval times to the present day. The difference in altitude between the highest and the lowest point of the course is 29 meters.Start just outside the Olympic Stadium and finish inside the beautiful arena. The first lap is 16.6 kilometers, the second lap 25.6 kilometers.

El recorrido es muy bonito, pero deberían mejorar los carteles que anuncian los avituallamientos, ponerlos unos 100 metros antes con altura para que se vean de ambos lados (derecha e izquierda).

Se hizo un poco pesada la distancia con tanto sol.

An incredible finale in the Olympic Stadium. On the other hand, the streets are not entirely blocked to cars. Very unpleasant to run with cars in front. Lack of garbage cans to dispose of water cups (risk of falls). Steep gradients between the 25th and 38th km.

I have regretted buying tickets online the same day when organizers have changed the date of the race, from summer marathon to autumn marathon. I have not bought an autumn marathon .. The way the organizers behave, with poor service, I will never again go to a marathon in Stockholm which is organized by athletics clubs in Stockholm, so-called The marathon group. I have paid for them for 15 years, but now it will stop because. their fake marketing and scams. They have shown their true face by deceiving people for money. They are municipal employees, so they probably knew that the summer marathon will be canceled, but they sold the tickets for the summer marathon anyway and do not return money, after canceled events.P.S. Now I also weigh in the bad treatment of the "volunteers of the athletics associations" there at marathons in Stockholm in general.

The route is a pretty flat course with some hills. There are some cool arrangements along the route, cheerful crowds and good music! This was my second marathon and I finished in 2:48, a PB of 22min.

You should really run this marathon, it’s a memory for life!

Management ran out of finisher medals. I would have been very nice if everyone finisher got their medal at the finish line.

The track was good and enjoyable.

Well organized race in a beautiful city. The course not tipically flat- but quite okay. Maybe not the best for PB. Nice athmosphere- i can recommend for everybody

Enjoyable route and crowds. But no where near enough water stations. I was carrying a litre of water with me and I still didn’t have enough water throughout the route making using of every water station. Could not imagine how it was for people not carrying water. Serious health risk that - maybe the weather caught the organisers off guard, but still should be prepared for all weather, rain or shine.

I have done the second marathon there. The first time was in 2014, my best time untill now. i tried to repeat, but 7 years after? not so easy. By the way I developed a gluteo medium tendinits. Despite of that, I finished the Lisbon marathon on october 17th, 8 days after, humhum.

I am very happy. Again, despite of tendinits, I will try to run on november 15th, the Rio marathon.. pay attention people I am not addicted, the problem was only the pandemie...

Esperienza pazzesca! Percorso bellissimo, atmosfera stupenda ed organizzazione impeccabile.

È stata la mia prima maratona e credo che non avrei potuto scegliere una gara migliore di Stoccolma per esordire in questa distanza!
