Very well organized Race with really good aid stations. Just missing any kind of crowd
Marathon
ran this race in 2021 as my first marathon attempt and had to DNF at 30km. The race is way too early in the season and it gets damn hot for anyone not finishing under 4hrs. The course had almost no shade and the stations were severely under-provisioned. I had to resort to picking up discarded refreshments from the ground in later kilometers. Abu Dhabi is super flat, so at least there's that. After finishing Paris in April 2023, that DNF had been a thorn in my side, so I'll be back to try again this year. They've pushed the race back 2.5wks, so let's see if that helps any.
2021 course was terrible, but they changed in in 2022 and I'm hoping it'll be the same in 2023
