The cleanest lake in Carinthia is a special insider tip among nature lovers. Distinguished with the ‘European Prize for Tourism and Environment’, the Weissensee is a true jewel in the austrian mountains, characterized by its drinking water quality and unique scenery. The 11,6 km long Weissensee lies at the foot of the Gailtaler Alps in the middle of a 76km² large landscape and natural reserve. It is also the highest situated carinthian swimming lake.The start and the finish of the Alpen-Adria-Swim-Cup take place at Beach Knaller, and the Start for the lengthwise crossing is the Beach Stockenboi.
