Come and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Seattle's Marathon this year! It all began in 1970 when a group of friends from the University of Washington chose to organize their own race. Over the years, the marathon has developed into one of the largest combined marathon and half marathon events in the Northwest. What started off as a small gathering of around 30 people has now turned into a huge event with thousands of participants taking part in the running and walking events. The course for the marathon starts at the Museum of Pop Culture on 5th Avenue and Harrison Street. During the race you will get to explore downtown Seattle, its iconic bridges, waterways, and neighborhoods. With the USATF certification, this race also serves as a Boston qualifier and a World Marathon Majors qualifying event. So mark your calendars and come join us the Sunday after Thanksgiving (US) for the remarkable Seattle Marathon!
