Beaverton Sun Run

Beaverton Rotary is proud to present the 9th Beaverton Sun Run. We will be partnering with the Beaverton Parade. The race will be before the parade and will do a USATF Certified 5K out-and-back between about Evelyn M. Schiffler Memorial Park and 5th and Maple. The start and finish of the race will be on SW Berthold between Erickson and Menlo Dr (see map below). It should be noted that the City of Beaverton is looking at a possible alternative route. If that occurs the Beaverton Sun Run will recertify the race as a 5k race under USTAF certification. 

Important Day of Race Information Below

Race time is at 8:30am on Saturday morning. Early registration ends 5pm on Friday. Day of registration begins at 7.30am Saturday morning. We will have people on site as early as 7:00am and you can begin packet pick up at that time (packet is made up of your number with a chip). Below is from an email that was sent 9/20 and will be updated as needed prior to the race. 

We had an early flyer that had mistakenly put the race time at 9:00am. The race start time is 8:30am. 

Packet pick up will be the morning of the race near the start and finish line. We should have people at the start and finish line by 7am. A map of the start and finish are now up on the site. It is on SW Berthold in front of Schiffler Park (between SW Menlo and SW Erickson). Day of registration will begin at 7.30am. We will try to have packets ready close to 7am (even though between 7 and 7:30am we will be setting up). Packets will be just your number which incorporates your race chip (instructions to get your t-shirt were delivered previously and are available through a 3rd party, we will have a limited number of shirts for sale after the race). 

We ask that runners be in the front of the group and walkers in the back. 

The weather should be good in the morning. At race time, the temperature should be in the low 50s and overcast.  

We have extended pre-registration to 5pm the day before the race (the old deadline was Thursday evening). This saves people $10 versus day of the event registration so invite friends to join($35 versus $45). All day of the event registration will be credit card only. 

We will have water bottles at the start and finish line. 

Parking will be available at Beaverton Christian Church which a few blocks from the race (13600 SW Allen Blvd, Beaverton, Oregon). You would walk up SW Menlo from the church to SW Berthold and take a right. You will see the start/finish line right in front of the park. 

We will have a water station at the 5K turn near 5th and Maple. 

After the race to check your results go to https://hubertiming.com/results/2022SunRun. Results will be live and you can check that link on your phone at the race site. 

This will overlap with the parade route that day. Participants are encouraged to spread out after the race to watch the parade which starts at 10am or visit the Saturday Beaverton Farmer's Market. The 5K will be certified by USA Track and Field. The map of the 5K route is here.

The goal of the race will remain the same, raise money for the good works supported by the Rotary Club of Beaverton. We have been serving the local Beaverton community for over 60 years. We provide books for kids, scholarships, warm coats and shoes along with a lot of very worthwhile projects both locally and throughout the world. We invite you to participate and to support these benevolent activities.

Day of Race Registration
Participants are strongly encouraged to register before day of race. We have extended the race pre-registration deadline to 6pm on September 22, 2022 (Friday). 
However, day of race registration will be available for $10 extra. Day of race registration will be credit card only. Parking will be available at Beaverton Christian Church and number pickup for pre-registration and day of the event registration begins at 7.30am race day.
