Online registration for 48th Annual Belmar 5 Mile & Kid's Race will open on Sunday, February 11.
Presented by the Goodwill Hose Co., the Borough of Belmar & the Jersey Shore Running Club
Saturday, September 7, 2024 – 8:00 AM Please join us for the 48th Annual 5 Mile Run along the beautiful Belmar oceanfront and local streets. There will be medals for all finishers, clocks at every mile, water stops, unisex dri-fit t-shirt for all registrants through 9/1 (late registrants 9/4 - 9/7) while supplies last), post race food & refreshments, drawstring backpack bags for the first 2000 Belmar 5 registered runners, team competition, Belmar 5 beach towel for award winners and more. Current JSRC Members will receive a 10% discount through May 31.
On Friday evening, bring the family to the Kid's races (ages 1 -12). It will be a night of fun with the popular Bessie Boodles the Clown, balloon animals, tattoos, inflatable slide, bounce house and more. All this included when you register along with a medal and a custom 2024 race t-shirt for all pre-registered runners through 8/29 (late registrants while supplies last). Sign up today!

Important: Race number bibs will be mailed to all registrants who register by July 31 to the RunSignUp registered address. Please be sure to log into your Runsignup.com profile to review your registration information to make sure that we have accurate mailing address, email address, gender, shirt selection, date of birth, etc. and update where applicable. Note that the post office has recently been delivering only to people living at the mailing address. Each year we have more and more bibs either returned to us or lost in the mail because of improper addresses. Returned bibs WILL NOT be re-mailed. If you have not received your bib by August 10 or your information is incorrect, please send an email to [email protected]. You will be able to receive a new bib during race week (see schedule below) for a $5 fee. Registrants who sign up on or after August 1 will be able to pick their bibs at the pickup locations on the dates listed below.

DONATIONS The Belmar Goodwill Hose Co. is a not-for-profit, 501c(3) organization that provides emergency fire and rescue services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to residents and visitors to the Borough of Belmar since 1898. The squad is staffed 100% by volunteer firemen and relies on charitable contributions to help fund equipment and operating expenses. Please consider making a donation during registration to support the volunteer first responders who serve our community.
POST RACE PARTY After the race, we invite everyone to join the post-race celebration for a barbecue, entertainment and drinks at Bar Anticipation. There will also be a team awards presentation, lots of gift cards donated by local merchants, two bicycles compliments of Miller Lite and two 2025 Belmar beach badges. Joe's Surf Shack also welcomes Belmar 5 runners.
HEAT ADVISORY
Temperatures/humidity can be high on the Jersey Shore during the summer months. Participants should drink plenty of fluid (non-alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms (dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
STRICTLY PROHIBITED
Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, roller blades, skates, skateboards, strollers baby joggers and pets are strictly prohibited.
EVENT PARKING
Arrive early - Allow extra time as parking in Belmar is limited this time of the year. Note that there will be street closures along the race course starting at 6:30 am. Do Not attempt to drive into these areas. There will be restricted parking along the race course. There will be no parking on Ocean Ave between 6th Avenue and the BeImar-Avon Bridge. Metered parking will in effect at 7 am. We request that you respect the town’s parking rules, nearby residential homes and businesses.
