The 7th Annual Birmingham, Alabama Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in celebration of Ostomy Awareness Day. All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)
REGISTER BY SEPT. 11th AND SAVE $5!Take advantage of the 'Early Bird' Registration Fee of $20.00/$15.00 for the 1-mile Children's Fun Run, which includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. You'll also be guaranteed the T-Shirt size you order. After September 11th the Registration Fee will increase by $5.00 and T-Shirt sizes are no longer guaranteed.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE
7:00 a.m. Registration and packet pickup
8:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk (unofficially timed)
9:00 a.m. 1 Mile Children's Fun Run
11:00 a.m. Awards Ceremony
REGISTRATION INCLUDES YOUR RACE T-SHIRT & BIB
A unisex Adult or Youth size T-Shirt and Bib are included with your registration fee for the 5k Event and 1-mile Children's Fun Run.
RACE COURSE
The Fun Run will take place at Avondale Park in Birmingham. 4101 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, Alabama. The exact route map will be included in your registration packets.
PARKING
Parking is free and available on site.
PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will be at 7:00 a.m. on September 30th at the race site.
Prizes will be awarded to the top Male and top Female Overall Finishers, as well as to the top Male and Female Ostomates.
OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCHRace registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch provided by Exclusive Diamond Sponsor Hollister. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies.
CREATE OR JOIN A RACE GROUP/TEAM!
Once you’ve registered you have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, co-workers to Register, pick to be on your Race Group/Team (or start their own), order their T-Shirt & Bib and celebrate the day with you! (Please note this is NOT a Team Fundraiser. To set up a Personal or Team Fundraiser, please go to the DONATE button.)

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE button at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
