2022 marks the 29th anniversary of the Capital City River Run—a compilation of family-friendly races that celebrate, build awareness of, and financially support Greater Lansing organizations that promote education, the desire to learn, and healthy lifestyles. This run series provides a premier racing experience, highlighting the natural beauty of Michigan’s capital city and adjoining rivers.

The Capital City River Run makes a real impact within the community, benefiting Impression 5 Science Center and its mission to provide children and families access to science exploration through hands-on exhibits and participatory programming.

Annual races include a Half Marathon, 5K Walk/Run, and the Sohn’s Kid’s Race. All race participants receive a long-sleeve pullover and finishers medal. The event is available as a virtual event, or in-person. The race will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and you can check your results during the race and on the web at Playmakers.com.

The half marathon and 5K races will will start at downtown Lansing on Sunday, September 18 at 8AM. The half marathon will have a mass start at 8AM and the start will be open until 8:10AM for those who want to spread out.
