Chasing The Mermaid Race

Chasing the Mermaid is a 5K plus running race or bike bar crawl sponsored by Trinchero Spirits.  All participants must be 21 years of age or older.  For your race fee you will receive 3 drink tickets to be used at any of the 4 bars along the course (featured race cocktails or shots only).  Top 3 Males & Females Runners Overall will receive awards. Prizes for best decoration, best bike costume and best group bike costume. The running race will start at 6:45pm with the biker race starts at 6:55pm.  Registration / Packet pick-up and Happy Hour opening at 5pm. Included in registration is 3 drink vouchers and a Jetty t-shirt! 

Both runners and bikers must observe rules of the road.  Here's the catch: runners must keep moving at all times.  If you hit a traffic light that is green you must go straight, if you hit a red light you must run either left or right.  The route will not be marked You are responsible for Navigating your way to each check-in bar where you will receive a sticker to be placed on your bib to prove you were there.  When you check-in at each bar racers must either do the featured shot/cocktail or 5 push-ups.  A map will be posted at the start to mark the location of each bar.

Important Info! This is a point to point event so we encourage you to bring a small group to participate, so if do not plan to stay at The Engelside (the finish bar & hotel) you can have a car at the start and finish.  A better plan is to take advantage of the SPECIAL room rate, park at the Engelside and catch a ride to the Start / Happy Hour.

Participants bikers are responsible for renting or bringing their own bike, as well as, returning their bike to the rental facility. We recommend you reserve your bike prior to the event. LBI rentals Acme Beach & Bike and Surf Buggy.  Bikes lights and helmets required.
