Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk

The 2021 Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk will be the 5th year for the event to take place.  The event, which is an excellent means of training for the King's Camp 5K or 10 Miler scheduled for October 30, 2021, is for all that enjoy the beauty of nature. Organizers have set three goals for the Chemin-A-Haut Run and Walk.   First, to provide a fun race, for everyone that enjoys trail running or walking along natural trails under towering forests, and along scenic lakeshore and bayou.  Second, to enjoy the unspoiled beauty that one of the oldest parks in Louisiana has to offer.  Participants will run the same route used by Native Americans centuries ago.  Finally, to invest all proceeds from the event in projects to promote Morehouse Parish such as Chemin-A-State Park, Bussey Brake, the Morehouse Memorial Airport, and a new Louisiana Delta Community College Bastrop Campus. If you have never participated in the event, organizers believe you will be impressed with the uniqueness of the run and walk and especially the hand-made medallions and awards which are made from the wood of Cypress trees.

Participants are encouraged to register with a team.  Teams will be compete for the “Most Team Members,” the “Most Spirited,” and the “Most Creatively Dressed.”

If you are not able to run or walk on October 16, participate in the virtual run or walk.  Participants can run or walk on October 16 at the time that is convenient for them.  After the event, virtual participants receive a t-shirt and a medalion in the mail. 

Run Awards:  Top Overall Male & Female and Men & Women 1st & 2nd Place Only For 0-15; 16-25; 26-35; 36-45; 46-55; 56-64, 65 and Over

Registration Fees and Dates for Run:

$25 registration fee - July 1, 12:00 AM to August 31, 11:59 PM, $30 registration fee - September 1, 12:00 AM to October 6, 11:59 PM, $35  October 7, 12:00 AM to October 14 at 11:59 PM.  NOTE:  There will be no registration available on October 15, 2021.  Registration will be available at the Park for $35 from 7:30 - 8:15 AM on the day of the event..

Registration Fees and Dates for Walk:

$25 registration fee - July 1, 12:00 AM to October 6, 11:59 PM, $30 - October 7, 12:00 AM to October 14 at 11:59 PM.  There will be no registration available on October 15, 2021.  Registration will be available at the Park for $30 from 7:30 - 8: 15 AM. on the day of the event.

Registration Fees for the Virtual Walk or Run:

 $25 registration fee - July 1, 12:00 AM to October 14 at 11:59 PM when registration closes.
