Chongqing Marathon

The Chang’an Auto Chongqing Marathon is western China’s premier full marathon, officially certified by the Chinese Athletics Association and jointly hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Sports Bureau, Nanan District Government, and Banan District Government. Operated exclusively by Chongqing Zhongma Sports, the event has grown into one of China’s most recognized road races under the themes "Running by the Mother River" and "The More You Run, the More You Love Chongqing." Known among runners as the "Hotpot Marathon," it is celebrated for its scenic urban-river route, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful marathon courses in China. Now an IAAF Gold Label and China Gold Medal Double Gold Race, the Chongqing Marathon is also part of the prestigious China Marathon Majors series. It has consistently ranked among the Top 10 most influential and valuable marathons in China, as recognized by People’s Daily’s annual running industry list (2017–2019). The event attracts elite and amateur runners alike and continues to set new standards in organization, race experience, and community engagement.
