Welcome to Cool Moon 100
The local, 100-mile alternative... 40 hours to finish and earn the new buckle created by legendary Silversmith James Stegman of Comstock Heritage in Reno.

Course
The course consists of a 13.5-mile loop and an 11.5-mile loop, upon which runners will alternate. Each runner will complete (4) 13.5-mile loops and (4) 11.5-mile loops to achieve the 100-mile distance. Runners will start North on a 13.5-mile, counter-clockwise loop from Cool Firehouse, head west to Pig Farm and Salt Creek, south toward the American River and back into Cool. Next, they will follow an 11.5-mile loop from Cool Firehouse South toward Northside School, to Knickerbocker, to the Rim Trail, past the radio towers, back to Northside School and Knickerbocker, and back to Cool. This course is not easy, do not take it lightly.
The course consists of single track and fire roads.
13.5-mile Loop elevation approximately 2200′
11.5-mile Loop elevation approximately 1150′
100-miler total elevation gain/loss approximately 13,600 feet.
Cut-off times
1. At 5:00pm (36:00 hours) on Sunday, August 15th at mile 88.5 at Cool Staging Area.
2. At 9:00pm (40:00 hours) on Sunday, August 15th at mile 100.0 at Cool Staging Area.
Runners who do not meet these two cut-off times will be required to turn in their bib as DNF and will not continue on the course.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup will be on Friday afternoon on August 13th, 2021 at The Aid Station in Auburn at 675 High Street between 3-6 pm. We will also have race morning packet pickup 4:00-5:00am for 100-mile runners.
Shirts
Shirts will be ordered on the 26 of July 2021. Therefore anyone who signed up after 26 July 2021 may not get the correct size due lack of availability.
Swag
All 100-mile finishers will be awarded with a handcrafted Comstock Heritage finisher's buckle, shirt, and finisher's medal.
Top-3 Overall Male and Female finishers will receive custom award plaques.
