About the event

Well at the end of Feb 2020 when we planned to put on this run, we really didn't think we'd be planning a second on. We really hope this is the final version of this run. We'll maintain social distances, light hearts, and individual goals. That said, we are going to run on Saturday, March 20 2021. Start at Bean Traders parking lot. We will start at the 7.25 mile marker on the ATT which is right at the South end of the I40 bridge. That will also be the finish line. We will mark the turn around points for 19K and 19 mile routes. Feel free to also run virtually elsewhere on the 20th. We will ask everyone to send in their run times and distances/locations and we'll keep a tally of all the results.

1) Rather than  have a single start time, we ask that you run anytime on Saturday, March 20 in groups of up to 8, run more than 6ft apart and wear a mask when even remotely close to other runners or walkers on the ATT.
2) If you run on the ATT, the markings will be there, as will the 19k and 19 mile turn around points, but feel free to run it elsewhere.
3) Last year we collected food donations for OCIM

Food collection Info. Some of the usual types of items are: Jelly, peanut butter, fruit cups, pasta meals, crackers, low sugar cereal, granola bars, cereal bars... also bags of rice, pasta, canned veg, canned tuna, canned fruit, shampoo, conditioner. Bring these items with you on the day, or if you see Martin any earlier, leave any items with him. All items will be donated to PORCH (People Offering Relief for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Homes) / OCIM (Orange Congregations In Mission (Hillsborough)).

Another option instead of bringing food items, simply make a online donation to Bean Traders. They have options via their Square app for paying it forward, shop help and for front line workers.

Course Description (you've seen it before, it's the ATT). Starting from the 7.25mile ATT marker at the end of the bridge (over I40), top of the hill, and back. Yes it finishes at the top of the hill. This will be an out-and-back course, with 19 miles as the total distance. There will be a marker if you want to make it a 19K instead. For that matter, you can run any distance that is best for you, and at any pace.

We will mark the turn arounds and get an update on rest room options closer to run day.

Last year for this event, it was at the very start of the pandemic, and everything was closed, including Bean Traders. Since then we have worked out (and some of us have become pros at parking lot coffee), so feel free to spread out for a BT coffee after your run.

Please bring your own hydration and nutrition. If we put out individual bottles of water on the course, we will let you know prior to event day.

We reserve the right to change all this info, or add to it as we think of things or come up with better ideas.
