Driftless 100

The Driftless 100 is a hilly gravel race through Clayton County, Iowa that features beautiful landscape in one of Iowa's best kept secrets. The race is designed to showcase the Driftless region of the state and push even the most savvy gravel rider to their limit physically and mentally.  Over 90% of the race is on limestone gravel with about 5% on pavement and 5% on level b/c roads.  It is not designed to be a mud fest but this is Iowa in April so it could be sloppy. If you are looking for an event to train for this winter, I promise this race will test you.  If you want a carrot, a Driftless branding Iron is awarded to any rider who finishes the course in under 8 hours. If you finish in under 7 hours, you get to brand the wall of pain and receive the 7 hour brand.  You do have to follow the official course and receive aid only at the aid stations to earn this award.  

Aid will be provided every 20-25 miles of the race. 

Navigation is required, there will only be signage for the family route. 

All profits of the race will go towards the local EMT units in Elkader, Volga and Garber.  

This is a rain or shine event. If there is an imminent severe weather threat we will delay the start of the race for safety but otherwise we will race in the rain. Courses will be altered if there is moisture on course to avoid mud roads.
