Dyrfjallahlaup – Brúnavíkurleið 11.7 km Distance: 11.7km Total ascent: 701m Total descent: 707m Highest point: 354m Lowest point: 15mThe finish line will be at Hólahorn on Borgarfjörður, and the race will initially be on a rough jeep trail over Hofstrandarskarð (350m) to Brúnavík. The jeep trail ends in the cove and there you enter a hiking trail that leads to an old accident prevention shelter where the running trails meet. From Brúnavík, there is a steep slope first on the way to Brúnavíkurskarði (354m). The race is this part of the route along an old riding road that is good and well traveled. From Brúnavíkurskarði, the path leads down to the sea and the last 400 meters are run on asphalt to the finish line at Borgarfjarðarhöfn. There is no mandatory equipment in the race, but we recommend that all runners have a whistle to signal if something happens, and if the weather is cold and rainy, it is very good to have a rain jacket and an aluminum blanket with you. There will be a drinking station in Brúnavík with water and participants must have their own drinking container.
