Feet for the Street 5K

The Feet for the Street 5K, was created to raise awareness and much needed financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a private, nonprofit alternative educational option for at-risk high school students in the Forsyth County area. The Street School combines small class sizes, caring, individualized attention, and an unwavering belief that the students we serve, when given a second chance, can not only thrive in high school, but be better prepared for success in life as well. 

In the last 15 years, over 200 students have overcome personal issues and learning difficulties to graduate and receive an accredited high school diploma from the Street School. These are students who many had little hope for and who in most cases, had very limited expectations for themselves before coming to the Street School. Since the Street School is a nonprofit organization, your support directly impacts our ability to provide life-changing services for our students. By participating in events like the 2nd Annual Feet for the Street 5K, you are making a difference!

Feet for the Street 5K description:

The Feet for the Street course starts and finishes on the Salem Lake trail, directly beside the playground, parking lot and restroom facilities at the main entrance to the lake. This makes for a wonderful venue for all who attend, their families and our vendors. A water station will be on the course, near the half-way point. Custom designed t-shirts, refreshments, and awards for overall and age group winners will be provided for participants. Award categories: 

Top 3 Overall Winners - Male and Female
Top 3 Winners in each Age Group - Male and Female
Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Make sure to look for and congratulate members of the Winston-Salem Street School Running Club, many of whom will be taking part in their first ever 5K race.

Packet pick-up will take place Friday, April 24th, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at the Winston-Salem Street School, located at 630 West 6th Street, in downtown Winston-Salem. Parking is available directly beside the school on 6th Street. Packet pick-up and race day registration will also be available the morning of the 25th at the check-in area, near the Salem Lake playground area. This will take place from 7:30 am - 8:30 am, with the race beginning at 9:00 am.
