Garmin Eldslóðin

Eldslóðin is a scenic off-road race that winds through the natural landscapes just outside Reykjavík, Iceland. Starting at Vífilsstaðavatn, the course takes runners along a rugged trail that includes Búrfellsgjá and Helgafell, before circling back to Vífilsstaðir. Designed to challenge seasoned trail runners while remaining accessible to newcomers, the route features manageable elevation and ever-changing terrain. With distances of 5 km, 9 km, and a more demanding 28 km, there’s a course suited for every level of runner. The event also features a team competition where groups of four complete the 28 km route, with both individual and collective times counted, adding a strategic, social element to the adventure. Organized by the team behind Viking events, Eldslóðin combines high-quality logistics with Icelandic hospitality, ensuring a memorable and safe experience for all.
