About the event
The Sofico Gent Marathon 2022 is now full, and registration is no longer possible. The marathon will take place on Sunday 27 March 2022 and is set to be a unique city marathon due to the new course which runs through the historic centre of Ghent. The start and finish line will be located at the Topsporthal along Watersportbaan. As part of the course, runners will get to experience the views of the famous three towers: St Nicholas Church, Belfry and St Bavo’s Cathedral, and run past the Ghelamco Arena and Energy Lab buildings. For those who would prefer a smaller distance, there is also the option of a half marathon or 11 km run. “The end of March is the ideal time for the marathon calendar”, says Greg Broekmans of organiser Golazo sports. “We want to attract lots of international marathon runners and provide something for everyone!”
