About the event

The non-competitive Granfondo MILAN - SANREMO proposes the same path followed by the great champions of the Spring Classic.
This makes it the longest amateur cycling event in the world, with a distance of about 296 km from the gates of Milan, through the Lombard and Piedmontese plains, to get to climb the Turchino and thus gain the Ligurian Riviera. From Genoa you then skirt the Ligurian Sea up to the finish line of Sanremo, which can only be conquered by trying your hand first on the mythical climbs of the Cipressa and the Poggio di Sanremo.
The non-competitive Granfondo MILANO - SANREMO born in 1970 on the initiative of the Sanremo Cycling Union and is the most famous Italian cycling event.
The latest editions have seen athletes from all over Europe at the start, with the participation of athletes from distant countries such as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Malaysia, Brazil, the United States and Canada.
