Personal Aid Stations can be set up near the start finish line  At packet pickup give your bib number to one of our staff or volunteers They will give you a:  Bib Number Should be placed on front of the body and be visible at least when you cross the finish line Safety Pins if needed Giveaway Items Event Apparel (if ordered) Timing Chip & Strap w/ corresponding Bib # that needs to be worn on your ankle  Needs to be returned. Failure to return the chip or lose the chip will include a $25 replacement fee Prior to race start the RD will give some last minute instructions  When you finish the race please return the timing chip and strap before getting your finisher medal  If you DNF or fail to meet the time cutoff please return the chip, inform a volunteer or timer before leaving the facility    Race Swag Finisher Medal Upstate Ultra Beer Glass Upstate Ultra Sticker Upstate Ultra Apparel (Optional during Registration)   Race Awards Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom hand made award! Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and custom lanyard. We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series. To learn more about our race series and awards please visit our results page here: HERE   Harbison Course Description Course Profile - HERE Elevation - 2,500 Feet 50k / 1250 Feet 25k The 2021 Harbison 50K will be the 12th year of the race! The Harbison 50K/25K is a trail race in Columbia, SC. Runners will make their way through a wide range of trails that will be a warm welcome for the first time trail runner while giving the returning athlete a chance to break a firebreak course record! The course will have a series of directional arrows that will be placed at all intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion.   Address Runners will access Harbison State Forest at this address: 5600 Broad River Rd Columbia, SC US 29212.From there they will follow the signs to park near the Gazebo. When you enter the front gate you will make your first left hand turn.    Cutoff The race has a cut off of 10 hours due to the State Forest Hours of operation. We are implementing a hard 5 hour first lap cutoff for the 50k runners.  However, as in year’s past, as long as the runners and the race sweep are through the last aid station before the cut off, we will wait and record everyone as an official finisher! 
    Aid Station There will be a total of 3 aid stations along the course. The first two aid stations are approximately 6 miles apart, so please ensure that you have the necessary hydration and nutrition for the distance. There will be Tailwind, Water, Coke, Mountain Dew and Ginger Ale at the aid stations with an assortment of cookies, chips, crackers, etc.  Aid Station 1 (mile 6) and 4 (mile 22): Midlands Mountain. This aid stations is located just before the Midlands Mountain Aid Station 2 (mile 12) and 5 (mile 28): Firebreak Trail, this aid station is near the cell phone tower Aid Station 3 (mile 16): Start/Finish Line Area. This aid station will serve as the halfway point of the 50K race.   Eco-Standard In an effort to be good stewards to mother nature we will not have any of the following items at ANY of our events. This is in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint being placed by endurance events throughout the world. Please have a cup or hydration bottle if you will need to consume water/nutrition during the event. Please bring your own fork/spoon for any post race meals. Please bring your own bags for items collected at the race. Please make use of old safety pins or our new Bib Boards that will be available for the timing chip only.  No Cups No Plates No Safety Pins No Plastic Spoons/Forks No Plastic Packet Pickup Bags
