About the event

The Inaugural Harrison Township, MI Run For Resilience Ostomy 5k will be held on Saturday, October 5,  2019.  All proceeds benefit the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc (UOAA) charity, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible. (https://www.ostomy.org/)

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

8:00 a.m. Sponsor Set-Up

8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Pre-registered Packet Pick-Up

9:00 a.m. Registration

10:00 a.m. 5K Run
10:05 a.m. Fun Run/Walk
11:00 a.m. Awards Ceremony

Kids Activities and bidding at the silent auction throughout the morning.

Please note the Registration Fee for those registering the day of the event will be $30 for Adults and $15 for Children 14 and under.

RACE COURSE

This Certified Run/Walk will be held within Lake St. Clair Metropark at the West Playfield Shelter near the Nature Center, taking participants on the scenic board walk along Lake St. Clair. The flat, out-and-back, 5K course will start and finish at the West Playfield Shelter. This is a timed race on a certified course for 5K participants. The Fun run will utilize the same course without a timer.

PARK ENTRANCE

Park entrance fee is not included.

PARKING

Ample parking for the event is located within the Nature Center parking entrance.

PACKET PICKUP

Pre-registered packet pickup will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on October 6th at the race site at Lake St. Clair Metropark, 31300 Metro Parkway, Harrison Township, MI.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female overall finishers, age group winners, and the top male and female ostomates.

T-SHIRTS

A unisex or female v-neck size Race T-Shirt and race bib are included with your registration fee. To ensure you receive the T-Shirt size you ordered, please register by Friday, September 13th. We will do our best to provide you with the T-Shirt size you ordered or a similar size, however, this is not guaranteed after September 13th.

OPTIONAL OSTOMY POUCH

Race registration bags will have typical race/sponsor promotional items, ostomy education materials, and most importantly an ostomy pouch. We encourage non-ostomate participants to put on the pouch for the race to improve awareness and empathy for the challenges faced by people living with ostomies. 

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

The Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k will be a family-friendly event including a silent auction and kids' activities.

FUNDRAISING 

Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.

We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATION link at the top of this page. You can create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL address, personalize your fundraising message, and direct your friends and family to your page to join your team or sponsor you in your fundraising goal.
