About the event

HimalayanXtri is an extraordinary extreme triathlon that will take you on a spectacular 222 kilometre journey, including touching the highest point of any triathlon in the world at 4,000 metres… It is Nepal after all! The very words extreme and diverse define this South Asian country. It is home to the great Himalayas and eight of the world’s highest mountains, giant glaciers, subtropical forests and sweeping arid deserts.

It is the birthplace of Buddha and the fiercest Gurkha fighters. You may need the spirit of both to complete this race. HimalayanXtri is not about fastest times. It is about a journey across a dramatic and sometimes breath-taking landscape. You will start with the stillness of a night swim in a sub-tropical lake, a road bike ride with 5,300 metres of overall elevation gain, and a run into the thin air set against the magnificent 8,000 metre Annapurna mountain range.

You will finish the race at a remote homestay village and experience the heart of Nepali hospitality and community. This is a unique journey for every athlete and their crew to share. But never forget, it is seriously extreme. Nothing in Nepal is flat!

In Nepal we think differently. Are you different?
