The Hops Trot 5K is back! It all started when we had a crazy idea. A 5K with flavor. That flavor… BEER. What better way to hydrate during a 5K than with Beer? The 7th installment of Atlantic City's fastest-growing 5K returns Sunday, June 4th, 2023 and tickets are on sale NOW!! We wanted everyone to experience the best beer spots in and around Atlantic City, and cap it off with an incredible time at The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival. Start the day with 3.1 miles along the boardwalk and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival featuring 150+ breweries and a once in a lifetime musical performance by 311!

The Hops Trot is open to avid runners and amateur runners, avid beer drinkers, and amateur beer drinkers. Needless to say, this is a 5K with flavor and you need to be there! Starting at Ocean Casino Resort at 10:00 am, runners will be given their first brew. Trotters will race down the boardwalk and onto Bader Field, stopping along the way at some of AC’s finest watering holes where they will be encouraged to drink a 2 oz beer before proceeding on. We might even throw in some obstacles and loopholes along the way! The finish line will be inside the festival just in time for Session 2 of The Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival. Costumes encouraged!

The race will start at 10 AM at Ocean Casino Resort. Participants must be 21+. The Hops Trot 5K Run is brought to you by CK Running & Good Time Tricycle!

Here’s the Course/Beer Line-up:

Beer # 1 at race start– Dogfish Head

Beer #2 will be at Loteria – Victory 

Beer #4 will be Kennedy Plaza/Ducktown Tavern- Goose Island

Beer # 5 will be at Chickie’s & Pete’s – Blue Point

After Chickie’s & Pete’s, follow the course marshal waving you off the boardwalk to turn right onto Albany Avenue.  

Your last beer stop on the course will be at Wonder Bar will be Flying Fish Mango Smoothie.

You will then turn right and your final 8th beer at the finish line at Bader Field will be Ship Bottom.

PRE-RACE PACKET PICKUP:

Pre-Race Packet Pickup will be held at the Ocean Casino Resort at Topgolf on June 3 (4:30-8pm).

All participants will receive their Hops Trot 5k race bib and beer koozie at packet pickup. Finisher's medals and exclusive Hops Trot 5k pint glasses will be passed out at the finish line.

Price Increase Schedule:

12/1-1/31: $99 for 5k+festival, or $45 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Sunday, June 4 only) 

2/1-3/31: $110 for 5k+festival or $50 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Sunday, June 4 only) 

4/1-6/4: $120 for 5k+festival or $55 for 5k add-on (this is for anyone already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Sunday, June 4 only) 

Other FAQs:

Q. Can I just run the 5k only?

A. Since the 5k ends right at the festival at Bader Field, all runners must register for the 5k and the festival.  No exceptions.

Q. What does a 5k add-on option mean?

A. This is for anyone who wants to register for the 5k and has already purchased their ticket for Session 2 of the Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival for Sunday, June 4.

Q. Will there be gear check?

A. Yes, there will be limited gear check that will be brought to the finish line at Bader Field.  However, we encourage you to run with essentials only so you can save some time after the race and go straight to the festival!
