About the event

We regret to inform you that due to the significant impact of Hurricane Irma here in Islamorada, we must postpone the Islamorada Half Marathon, 10K & Beach N’ Beer Mile to February 3rd & 4th, 2018.

Following Hurricane Irma, we believed that the original dates of December 9th & 10th would still work for our event given the three month window of time for clean up efforts in the Keys. However, despite the immediate progress and resiliency from our residents and businesses, there is still much to do. Therefore, after recent evaluations with the local authorities we have come to the conclusion that a postponement is necessary.
Please know that the Village of Islamorada as well as the rest of the Florida Keys still very much looks forward to hosting our event and encourages all to attend our new dates. As tourism is the driving force behind the Keys economy, it is more important than ever to visit our beautiful paradise. We just ask for a little more time to clean up and get our businesses ready.

We ask that anyone who has made hotel reservations to call and make the necessary changes. Please note that some of the Islamorada hotels are currently closed and will remain closed until further notice. This includes our hosting hotel, The Guy Harvey Islander Resort. For anyone who has reservations at these resorts, you should have been notified of a cancellation if they are to remain close through December. If Islamorada hotels are filled for the new dates, we encourage you to look into new accommodations in Key Largo. Most Key Largo hotels are open for business.
We are working hard to ensure that your race weekend is an unforgettable experience. Thank you everyone for your support and we look forward to seeing you on February 3rd & 4th.
For any questions please feel free to contact us directly at islamoradahalf(at)gmail.com

Our events are located in one of the most sought after destinations in the U.S.A, the Florida Keys.  Islamorada, known as the "Sportfishing Capital of the World" is located just 1.5 hours south of Miami (2 hours from Ft. Lauderdale) and 80 miles to Key West.  On December 9th and 10th, 2017, the Guy Harvey Islander Resort will be hosting these great events.  Whether its diving, fishing, or drinks at sunset, Islamorada is a spot like no other.  Fresh off the success from our second event in 2016, we hope you join us this year and treat yourself to a wonderful vacation.

Press Release

Half Marathons in Florida – Islamorada Half Marathon in December 2020

07 Jul, 2020 (Tue)

The Islamorada Running Company has announced that the 6th Annual Islamorada Half Marathon, 10K & Beach N’ Beer Mile races will be held on December 5th and December 6th, 2020. Registrations for these events are open. According to announcements released by Islamorada Running Company and Robby McClung, the Islamorada half marathon, one of the most popular half marathons in Florida, is scheduled for December 5th and 6th, 2020. Three other events, the 10K race, 5k race, and the Beach N’ Beer will also be held. Despite setbacks from COVID-19 they are still hopeful that we will be able to produce a fun, safe and socially distanced event. This is the sixth year that the half marathon will be held. It has grown in popularity over the years, due, in no small measure, to the scenic route along the Florida Keys. According to sources, the Beach N’ Beer run presents a fun challenge with participants expected to chug four beers over a mile’s run. The events also offer great opportunities for volunteers who wish to gain experience and broaden their network. There are many exciting activities to enjoy in the Florida Keys area; the Dry Tortugas National Park is popular with visitors, and you don’t have to be a literature buff to visit The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. There is accommodation available to suit all budgets and needs.
