Description

MAM Fam, it's time to shake off the winter chill and stretch into spring! Join us for our second annual Jaguar Jog: 5K Run and 1-Mile Family Walk. Families can run to compete for prizes, get your exclusive Jaguar Jog water bottle and string backpack combo, and show your school pride. On May 14th at 9am, we’ll be hosting the Family Walk and Jaguar Jog celebration IN PERSON. So mark your calendars for the family-friendly walk along with awards, music, and fun on the MAM playground!

The cost to participate is $25 per participant, with a max of $100/per family. If, for any reason, you feel that you cannot afford the registration fee, please use coupon code JOG4FREE for completely free entry. You will still receive the swag and be eligible for all prizes, and your use of the coupon code is anonymous.

Registration tip: Runners, you'll register for the 5K Run. Runners are automatically registered to participate in the in-person family walk as well, there is no need to register for both events. Walkers can simply register each participant for the in-person, 1-Mile Family walk.

All proceeds will benefit the MAM Fund, which supports school enrichment programming like Urban Ecology Center and FoodRight, teacher classroom funds, and special projects like the rain garden and new playground.

Our Goal

This year, the Fund set the goal of raising $30,000 to sustain current programming. Through your generous support of the Fall Giving Campaign, we raised just over $20,000, leaving us about ~$9,000 shy of our goal. Through the Jaguar Jog, we hope to bridge the gap and hit our target. We’re setting the challenge of raising $10,000 with this event. Follow our progress via our fundraising tracker on the Donate/Pledge tab.

Participation

So, how exactly does this work? This year, the 5K Jaguar Jog run is virtual, but the Family Walk is in person. For those signing up for the 5K, you can complete the run anywhere and anytime between now and midnight of Thursday, May 12th. Your results must be uploaded here at RunSignup by midnight on Thursday, May 12th. Where to run? The MAM school area is a runner’s paradise. From the lakefront to the Urban Ecology Center, you’ve got lots of options. We’ve even suggested a few routes for you (click the link in the menu). Winners will be announced and prizes distributed at the Jaguar Jog celebration on May 14th.

Registration for the Jaguar Jog  

There are multiple ways you can participate:

1-Mile Family Walk

Ditch the winter blues and drink in the fresh spring air on a walk together with our school community around the MAM neighborhood. Open to everyone of all ages including our littlest jaguar cubs, this fun walk encourages wagons, strollers, scooters, however you want to move! In addition to receiving the exclusive Jaguar Jog water bottle & string bag, two randomly-selected families will win a gift card to Stone Creek Coffee. The walk will happen in person at 9 am on May 14th at MAM School.

5K Jaguar Jog

Feeling competitive? Fleet-footed adults and students in grades 4-8 can sprint to the finish to compete for prizes and glory. A medal and Boswell Books gift card will be awarded for the fastest times in each of these two divisions: (1) male/open league and (2) female, in the below age/grade categories. All runners receive the Jaguar Jog water bottle & string bag combo.

Upper Elementary (Students)

Prize awarded to the fastest runner in each of these two divisions: (1) Male/Open League and (2) Female

Adolescents (Students)

Prize awarded to the fastest runner in each of these two divisions: (1) Male/Open League and (2) Female

Adults (Adults of any age)

Prize awarded to the fastest runner in each of these two divisions: (1) Male/Open League and (2) Female

Capturing your Time

How do you capture your 5K race time? We’ve provided several 5K route suggestions, click the menu section to check them out. Use the stopwatch on a phone or watch, run our suggested 5K route and note your time. Another option: download one of the many free running apps for smartphones and use the built-in GPS to track your 5K distance and time. Once you’ve run your 5K, click the "Results" tab to submit your results here on RunSignup. Your results must be uploaded here at RunSignup by midnight on Thursday, May 12th. Good luck!

Pledges for MAM

We encourage you to click "Become a Fundraiser" in the menu to create a fundraising page for your student. It takes only a minute to create the page, share it on social media, and e-mail the link to help get pledges from your friends and extended family. Getting pledges for your student's participation is a great way to raise money for important programming and projects at our school.
