La Valette Marathon

Страхотно състезание, много приятно трасе. Организацията беше супер, за първи път бягах в Малта и всичко беше невероятно

Travelled to Malta with 8 friends to run this half marathon. Great morning, great route but the worst running experience ever. From the beginning with the lengthy bag drop queue, toilets (the only ones on course) literally at the start line, to the totally unsignposted and understaffed tiny water stations where most were made to wait for the thimble cups to be poured. The finish line was a checklist of how not to organise a race if you value your customers. Disorganised chaos at the bag pickup station, water and Gatorade over a bridge - again unsignposted and no stewards directing many dehydrated finshers to that area. Emergency vehicles making three point turns with sirens on careening into the sweaty hordes still queuing for their bags. Race management has never been so blatantly focused on profits to the detriment of competitors and their experience and memories. The sight of full marathon runners having to slalom their way around all manner of obstacles in the home straight to finish sub 3:30 will live long in the memory. Literally sick for the rest of the day standing in wet gear for over an hour queuing to get my gear.

1.organisation 2.route 3.hydration+ 4.security are my criteria The organisation was totally failed!!! At first there was no free transportation! The didn’t have toilets except the start and the finish or maybe one more spot The Route is demanding with elevation 72m-49m-42m no crowd but mostly beautiful Hydration stops i think was 6 in a full marathon!!! With 4oz paper cups and you had to wait to fill it for you And one of those had oranges Security I hope you don’t afraid to run next to cars in a city that everybody is driving crazy fast but at least we had one meter of space sometimes! I even ask for a Vaseline or something for chafe from some rescue person (3 different spots) and they didn’t have… I just have to say “just don’t do it” if you can’t organise it

The route is demanding across the sea sometimes the weather must be super windy. The elevation is at first 74 meters then there is a second one around 30th km 50m and there is a third one 5 km before the fitness line around 40m if I’m not wrong

Pire marathon de ma vie, pas de place pour courir, vous courrez entrés les voitures et bus, vous devez vous arrêter à des croisements à cause des voitures, les point d'eau tout le monde boit dans la même bouteille car manque de verre ou alors tu dos attendre 2, 3 minutes que le gars sert un verre d'eau, à l'arrivée, le gars qui donne des bouteilles d'eau, il faut attendre 20 minutes car il est seule et pas préparé. Pour récupérer son sac, vous attendez 30 minutes debout au soleil après le marathon car le dispositif pour rendre son sac est vraiment pas au point. Autant vous dire que pour 75 euros cela ne vaut pas le coup, vous pouvez courir dehors seule cela sera pareil

Traffic and the road operating as if it’s a normal day. We were running and next to us cars were going in normal speed. I think organiser should travel and see other marathons to get to know the standards. It was mostly us running by ourselves. Barely any other fuelling option than water. At the finish, we only had oranges. So shameful, the island has such a potential and it is wasted.

Great route, taking on Maltas capital city Valletta as well as Malta’s stunning coastline, with a picturesque finish in the harbour. Corsa are well organised with plentiful aid stations and support along the course and the best medal resembling an old coin at the end was a delight. It’s a great was to view a huge chunk of the island in fast forward.

A half marathon that shows off Malta's unique history. Starting from the sliema shoreline talking through the magnificent capital city ending up in what I consider to be Malta's Gem ... BIRGU ... A race packed with history and views ... Next year will be my 4th time participating as it has become a staple race in my running annual calender. KEEP IT UP

This races gives your everything Fun ... Entertainment ... Historical views, runners can benefit from Malta's historical architecture and breathtaking views

A one of a kind experience with top notch organisation from Corsa. I have raced many races across the world and this race is up there with the very best.

Great route, but cars in road was really near it was dangerous

The inaugural event was fantastic! Small crowd with a mixture of running on closed and open roads. Many options for distance/pace to make it very inclusive. Very well organized with lots of volunteers along the route. The organizers were open to feedback on improving the race for 2023 (like having more toilet paper at the start). The start was early to avoid the heat but it was still hot out. Water offered every 5K. Make sure you train for the sun and heat.

Very pretty route along the coast.

the organisers were very supportive and encouraging throughout the process of booking the marathon to the final crossing of the finish line. great route, seeing so much of the Towns/ports. plenty of water stops. lovely medal. started early but needed to due to the heat, plus it mean the roads were not too busy. although the roads were open to traffic, each junction was very well managed and we were given priority over traffic. nice supportive crowds at the start and the finish. I guess as it was the first, the public may not have been so aware of it being on and watching. All the marshals were friendly and encouraging too. plenty of portaloos at start and finish, bit not so on route. this was raised, so i am sure they will rectify for future events. bib pick up was easy (from a shop), and it was easy to get top the race start in the morning. All in all highly worth the trip. take friends/ family and enjoy all that Malta has to offer.

weaving in and out of the ports/ towns, then through the country side. great way to see a city.

No possible to drink under the running.Only one table for all runners at the stops.The gave me a 2l water I drunk 1dl and I droped out.It was a joke.When we arrived to the end we cannot drink ! Only in a small place you had to stand on row for 15 min.Terrible all. We run on the motorway next to the bus and cars in the smog.

Bag drop totally disorganised. Bag collection total disaster. Water station offering 2L bottles of water (fine for me, I got my own bottle filled right up nicely). Finish line - no water immediately available, no food seen, possibly due to lack of sponsors who would provide it.

Disappointing experience. No toilets on the track. Understaffed, small, insufficient, and messy refreshment points. Poor traffic management - only a part of the road actually dedicated to runners and full traffic on the rest. Buses and cars driving next to participants for big part of the track. Part of the track even on the highway in full operation!? Trucks driving 80km/h right next to runners, really? Shame the traffic was prioritized over people. For the rather high starting fee one would expect more.

The track was well staffed and marked in regards of navigation- a lot of staff making sure you do not get lost. The quote "Malta's most scenic race, it takes you on A mesmerising journey along the island's stunning coastline," is quite an overselling. While parts of the track are indeed beautiful a big chunk is also what feels like quite an industrial area. Maybe if I ran full marathon track my impression would be different.
