The fall shores of Lake Summit will showcase the foliage of the blue ridge mountains in the backdrop off the glistening waters. Lake Summit is nestled in the picturesque Southern Appalachian Mountains just south of the historic Flat Rock area. The course will include the 10 miles of  gravel road on the shoreline of Lake Summit near the beautiful homes of Tuxedo. This late season race will showcase the ever changing colors of the fall foliage in the backdrop with the green glistening water fronts of each home.

From Lake Hartwell through the Foothill Mountain Range. Locations that cover all of the State Park systems into the Streets of Anderson, Greenville, Travelers Rest, and Spartanburg. We have events that offer opportunity to every level of runner looking to take on their next challenge!
 
Donations & Club Membership Discount - 15% OFF
All club memberships to the Upstate Running Club and/or the South Carolina Ultra Marathon Club fund the Upstate Running Club Youth Team with over 200 members. The club provides FREE training services, training equipment, race uniforms, and comped race entries to our series throughout the year. All donations directly fund the club to help cover the costs of facility rentals, insurance, post practice snacks, team socials, and awards! The program is comprised of athletes of all abilities from ages 6-12 years old

Events Details

What: 10 mile running race around Lake Summit on a packed dirt road

Where: Tuxedo Park & Lake Summit - 1299 Old US 25 Hwy, Zirconia, NC 28790

When: November 4th 2023 @ 8am

Packet Pickup: 1 Hour Prior to your race start time near starting line

Post Run Food: We will be serving complimentary pancakes post run for all runners

Overall Awards will be given out at the conclusion of the top 3 finishers. 

Age group winners will be recognized in the results tab and our point series.

Aid stations: No aid stations on the course as this is a private lake.

Race Awards, Timing, & Results

Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom award

Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and custom lanyard.

We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series.

This event will be chip timed with a reusable timing chip attached with an ankle strap. The timing chip will correspond with your bib number at packet pickup. The chip will be read by our timing hardware at the finish line and timing software. Results will be updated online periodically throughout the event. Please return your timing chip & strap at the conclusion of your event.

Lake Summit Course Description

Course Map HERE - Elevation Gain - 575

The route is right around Lake Summit near Tuxedo and is generally flat with one speed bump of a hill! The terrain is 90% packed dirt road and the rest is sidewalks or paved roads. The course will have a series of directional arrows that will be placed at all intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. The route runs in a counter-clockwise direction around the lake with minimal road crossings or intersections.

Refund Policy
Our staff at Upstate Race Series, Upstate Ultra, and Go Green Events is proud to produce 28 events a year for the Upstate Running Club and the South Carolina Ultra Marathon Club. Any participants that are unable to attend, their registration will be donated to our Youth Running Program that offers free training services and racing opportunities for over 200 kids in the upstate.
