Livable Buckhead's buckheadRUN! 5K

Lace up those running shoes and join Livable Buckhead for our 2nd annual 5K race – this time with a holiday flair! BuckheadRUN! returns in virtual format, with participants running over an extended window of time to allow for physical distancing.

The virtual 5K takes place from December 1 to 12. Runners can complete the 5K course of their choice, then record and submit their time using any map or tracking app (e.g., strava, Applewatch, Apple Health, fitbit, etc.). All runners must complete their run  and submit their recorded time by 12 p.m. on Dec. 13.

This is a perfect opportunity to explore Buckhead during the holidays and get into the holiday spirit for the array of events and programming happening during “Miracle on Peachtree” celebrations. All runners receive a t-shirt and can listen to a curated holiday Spotify playlist while they burn a few calories – runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs are welcome. Prizes will be given for not only the fastest runners but for runners who show the most holiday cheer via holiday costumes! Additionally, any participant who submits a selfie during their race will receive a commemorative 5K magnet along with their t-shirt.

Race Opens: 7am December 1st

PACKET PICKUP
T-shirts will be sent after the completion of the race with your magnet

PARKING
If planning to run in-person parking is available at Lenox Square. We also encourage you to use MARTA when visiting the site (Lenox or Buckhead Station Sare a short walks from the start of our planned route)

SUBMITTING YOUR TIME

Please follow all of the steps below in order to be included in the results. You may submit your time anytime between 12/1/2020 and 12/13/2020

- Run or walk a 5K anywhere - even on a treadmill. If you are running/walking outside, please make sure you are following all social distancing rules and follow ALL local, state, and federal mandates!

- Take a picture of your time/distance. It can be through Strava, Garmin, Mapmyrun, or even a picture of your watch or treadmill display. As long as we can see your distance / time, you are good!

- Email your proof to [email protected] within the time window posted above. Times submitted outside of this window will not count. Please include your full name in the email. ***VERY IMPORTANT*** In the subject line of your email, please put "buckheadRUN 5K Time Submission". This will help us know which event you are participating in.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the overall male, overall female, masters male, masters female, best costume, and best selfie. Join Livable Buckhead on Facebook Live on December 13th at 1 PM for our virtual awards ceremony! 

T-SHIRTS & MAGNETS
All registered runners will receive a commemorative Holiday themed cotton t-shirt and commemorative magnet. We want to see images of you running your race, please email [email protected] an image of you running which will be made into your own magnet. All participants who choose not to share an image will still recieve a magnet with a fun image of Buckhead. 

VIRTUAL HOLIDAY COSTUME CONTEST
Get into the spirit of the season and join the Miracle on Peachtree costume contest! Submit a photo of you running in your costume to anna@Livablebuckhead by 12:00 PM December 8th and we'll post it on our Facebook/Instagram for voting. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative costumes in the following categories: Best Adult Male, Best Adult Female, Best Kid & Best Dog

Snap a photo of yourself running in your best holiday outfit and submit it to [email protected] December 13th by 12PM to be entered to win exclusive Livable Buckhead prizes! Share the photo on Intagram or Facebook with the hashtag #buckRUN5K and tag @livablebuckhead to earn more entries for the drawing.
