The race is a circumnavigation of Lake Okeechobee using the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST), a mostly paved and completely level pathway that encircles the lake and runs along the top of the Herbert Hoover Dike, the earthen wall that keeps the lake within its nominal boundaries.
