About the event
The Mill Pond Mile is a one-mile fun run around the scenic Mill Pond in New London, Minnesota. It takes place each July, before the annual Water Days parade.
The race was started in 2000 by Jim and Shelly Berg to honor the memory of their 10 year old son, Cody, who died in a car-bike accident in 1999. All proceeds go to the Cody Berg Scholarship Fund for college scholarships that are awarded to members of the New London Spicer graduating class each spring.
This is a non-timed event, but those who wish to be timed are encouraged to have a parent or friend bring a stopwatch to record personal bests.
