About the event

This race is particularly epic scenery-wise! Moray is famous for having some of the best coastline and seafood around. With its wide sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, coastal formations and attractive fishing villages, it makes for a stunning route for a race. Beginning at the RD's home town of Forres, you soon reach the coastline at Findhorn, famed for its eco-community. From there, a forest overlooking the sea takes you past where the RD got married (this is how much he loves the area!) all the way to Lossiemouth and its epic clifftops, to Spey Bay where you can search for dolphins, past picturesque former fishing villages, and then finishing in Cullen.

Interesting fact: Kyle & Debbie's 2nd son was born the night before the inaugural Moray Coastal Trail 50!

Beginning inland at the fine country town of Forres, it soon hits the coastline at Findhorn, famed for its eco-community. From here the coastal trail properly begins across the forested back of the vast Burghead Bay.

The section from Burghead to Lossiemouth has some superb clifftop walking with great seaviews. Further on is Spey Bay, renowned for its dolphins, the ship-building heritage of Buckie and finally a string of picturesque former fishing villages leads on to Cullen, where the route will total approx. 50miles.
