New Year's Day Peanut Butter Chip Chase 5K Walk or Run

For 42 years, this race/walk has been a New Year’s Day tradition in Temple, NH. This race is sponsored by the Souhegan Lions, who use the proceeds to help people in the towns of Temple, New Ipswich, Greenville, and Mason with sight and hearing needs, as well as with emergencies such as fires. The Souhegan Lions also support special needs organizations in the state. The Souhegan Lions have become increasingly active in supporting the food pantry in Greenville, NH over the past ten years. Now as COVID19 takes its toll on families, affecting employment and health, the Souhegan Lions have taken a larger role,  including shopping for needed items to bring back to the pantry as well as sending monthly donations to support this community food pantry,

The Souhegan Lions typically donate approximately $7,000.00 per year to these various organizations. We know that the need continues – and has increased, due to the pandemic – and we hope that you will support this virtual 5K and invite your friends as well! You can register online at: Families registering together pay less in fees and people who sign up in together receive this discounted processing fee as well.
