The 39th Annual Spirit Run is scheduled for Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. With 11 competitive road races, 5k Family Walk, Family Mile, and Toddler Trot, Spirit Run offers running and walking events for every age, toddlers to grandparents, and every fitness level. Spirit Run even includes your BFF canine by offering the Dog Mile, in which humans age 13 & older run or walk with their dogs.
Competitive adult races include the Open Mile*, Masters Mile*, Elite Mile*, Dog Mile, and Adult 5k. Competitive youth races include the Youth 5k (high school and younger), age based, 1/4- 1- mile races for ages 4 - 18, and Dog Mile for age 13 & older. Adults and children may also register for the "Combo" to race their age appropriate 5k and mile races.
All race finishers - adult, youth, and canine - receive a "Spirit" medal at the finish line.
Spirit Run offers "Spirit" shirts as follows:Youth Events Entry fee covers a shirt which must be picked up at Spirit Run.Adult Events Until February 20th, entry fee covers shirt, although registrant may decline it and save $5. Spirit Run offers a cash prize purse in the Elite and Masters Mile and 5k, and more than 150 non cash prizes in all other competitive races. Competitors must participate in their age appropriate race to be eligible to win.
In between the walking and running events, participants and spectators enjoy a Youth, Fitness & Dog Expo with food and beverages, live music, massage and shopping for adults, youth activities, health and fitness information, adoptable dogs, dog products, and more. The net proceeds of this long standing community event benefit youth local schools, youth sports, and other youth causes. Schools and other youth charities sign up to fundraise with Spirit Run. You may, but are not required, credit your entry and make a donation to your favorite one when you register for Spirit Run. You may also create an online Spirit Run giving page and invite friends and family members to donate to your participating school or charity.
