Nic's Race 5k, Kids 2k, Duathlon & Family Social Bike Ride

This is a fun event for kids, families & competitive athletes. You are welcome to participate in-person or virtually in the 5k/2k run, duathlon or family social bike ride at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska. We will have the course marked with duct tape and/or flagging for 3days OR you can complete the distance where ever you are in the World! In-person start times are listed below, on Sunday, September 27th, 2020 at Kincaid Park. The start/finish line will be near the turf soccer field to allow for racers to spread out. The transition area for duathletes will be the parallel parking spots next to the multi-use trail, around from the backside of the bunker. 

10am - 5k Timed & 10:10am Untimed run - This a trail run on a mixture of trails around the Mize Loop area, starting/ending near the Kincaid turf soccer field. We will have 4waves of 25 racers starting every 2minutes. The 10:10am untimed race will run the same 5k course. 

11am - Kids 2k Fun Run - This is an untimed trail run on a mixture of trails and grass surface, starting/ending near the Kincaid turf soccer field. We will have 4waves of 25 racers starting every 2minutes. 

Duathlon - We will have 3 races, the Kids ages 4-8, Kids ages 9-12, and Kids 13 through Adults race, with 25racers starting every 2minutes. 

11:30am - Duathlon - Ages 4-8yrs old - .35mile run, 2.5mile bike, .35mile run - 2waves of 25kids will begin every 2minutes

12:15pm - Duathlon - Ages 9-12yrs old - .7mile run, 5mile bike, .7mile run - 2waves of 25kids will begin every 2minutes

1pm - Duathlon - Ages 13 through Adults - 1.5mile run, 10mile bike, 1.5mile run. We will have 4waves of 25 racers starting every 2minutes

2:30-3pm - Family Social Bike Ride - This is a leisure, untimed family bike ride from the top of the Coastal Trail to Pt Woronzof and back. There will be a table with snacks and a refill station for water bottles at the turnaround. All rides will need to stay single file and will need to use good biking communications (calling out PASSING) only on straight aways when you can confirm its safe to pass and there is no oncoming bike traffic. We will have a families begin at their own pace between 2:30-3pm, with a cap of 100 bikers total. This is NOT a race, their will not be a running clock on this event. 

All race proceeds will go into a fund to support the Nelson family and our goal for establishing a Nic Nelson Scholarship.
