About the event

McLain Farm Adventure Race is ALWAYS the last Saturday in August, rain or shine!

NOMBS and Hillbilly Mike are welcoming you back to the farm for the 5th year of racing at McLain Farm.

Ohio Gravel Race Series Points:

If you are racing for points in the Ohio Gravel Rave Series enter the 60 mile.

Aid Station Cutoffs:

MFAR is a challenging endurance event. We want everyone to have an opportunity to test themselves, but we also want you to be safe. Aid stations will close at the times listed below. All riders who have not made it to the aid stations by cutoff times will be shuttled to event start so you can enjoy your meal and commiserate with fellow participants about how tough the hills are. After cutoff times the race course is considered closed, and anyone choosing to continue does so at their own risk with the understanding that there is no SAG vehicle behind you anymore.

Aid 1, top of Schoolhouse Hill, ~8miles, 12:30pm cutoff.Aid 2, bottom of Crow Hill, ~20 mile, 1:30pm cutoff.Aid 3, Mt. Zion Church, ~32 miles, 2:30pm cutoff.

Jr Novice Races

Due to the different format of McLain Farm Adventure Race Jr. Novice categories are part of the same mass start as all other racers.

Day Of Registration:

While we strongly encourage you to preregister (and greatly appreciate you doing so as it helps the event go more smoothly), there will be "day of" registration. It will be an extra $10, and will close 30 minutes before the start of your event.

Course Info

For the most part the 3 routes will be the same as 2023, with a few tweaks. Official routes will be available for download closer to the event date.

Race day Schedule:

8am registration/packet pickup opens10am mass start.

USA Cycling Licenses, Ohio State Championship, and NOMBS Series Championship rules & eligibility:

NOMBS is proud to be bringing a USAC sanctioned series to Ohio and be hosting the official USA Cycling Ohio MTB Championship. Partnering with USA Cycling helps us offer you a great series with structure, good insurance, and allows an opportunity for riders with goals outside Ohio to earn USAC points.

If you do not have a USAC license you can select a one day license during checkout. This is a great option for riders who want to come out to a few races and have a great time. However to be eligible for series awards or state champion you must purchase an annual license from USA Cycling. You can go here to get your annual, and enter one of these promo codes to get a discount on your USAC annual license:

TEAM24 is good for $10 off renewing your USAC license.INTROMEMB24 is good for $25 off a first time USAC license.

If you have NEVER had a USAC license enter promo code INTROMEMB24 at checkout. First time members are eligible for a $49 annual race license!

In 2024 the Ohio State Championship and NOMBS Series Championship will be awarded separately. Awards will be given out at a post season awards party to be held at Ray's Indoor MTB Park. See below for eligibility rules for both State Champion and NOMBS Series Champion.

USA Cycling Ohio State Championship eligibility rules.
