My name is Stacie Roman and I lost my dad John Stephen Westcott on February 12, 2021 to COVID pneumonia. I have been wanting to do something to honor him. June 2021 we held our first in person and virtual walk to support Rami's Heart COVID Memorial. I found the COVID-19 Memorial Belmar NJ Facebook support group shortly after my dad's passing. Rima Samman started a beautiful heart memorial in honor of her brother Rami who she lost to COVID almost 2 years ago. She wrote his name on a rock to honor him along with a little over 100 other names of other locals who also lost their loved ones to COVID. When she posted this she received messages from people all over the world asking to be added to the memorial. Now 1 heart with a little over 100 names turned into 12 hearts with over 2000 names of loved ones lost to COVID from all over the world. The Memorial was moved from 3rd Ave in Belmar, NJ right to Allaire Community Farm in Wall, NJ. This in person and virtual run is to raise money for the upkeep and maintenance of this beautiful memorial that has brought peace to so many that never got to properly say good bye to their loved ones. Saturday April 15th 2023 we are hosting the in person walk starting at 10am am rain or shine on 3rd Ave in Belmar where it all began. If you can't make it in person you can complete the walk anywhere the week of April 10-16th at your own convenience. You will see 2 events. The first is the virtual event and the second is the in person option. Please register accordingly. You can always support us by simply making a donation as well. Thank you in advance for your support in something that is so near and dear to my heart and the hearts of so many others.
