A few weeks before the official inauguration of the Olympic Games (August 5th), thousands of runners took part in the city’s annual marathon. Results: Kimutai beats Ketema by a second in Brazil
Marathon results Will Kangogo Kimutai (2:14:56) beat Lemawork Ketema (2:14:57) by a second beachside in Brazil to win the Rio de Janeiro Marathon. Kimutai cut more than three minutes from his second-place finish in 2013, to best nearly 4,000 runners. Edson Amaro earned a third-place finish with a time of 2:16:51. After the Soccer World Cup, Rio de Janeiro was again under the spotlights with the Marathon this weekend. Ednah Mukhwana won the race in the women’s category with a time of 02:40:32.
