Roanoke Valley Beer Mile

Beer Mile: The typical beer mile consists of running a mile on a quarter mile track but before each lap you must drink a beer. Drink a beer and run a lap (x 4).   FUN FACT: Corey Bellemore holds the world record for fastest beer mile with a time of 4:39.56!

 

What would it take to make completing a beer mile even more brag worthy? How about running one on a cyclocross course where professional cyclists from around the country will be racing on right after the completion of that said beer mile! Yeah, that's right, this is not your typical beer mile. This beer mile will take place at Go Cross on September 30, 2017 at 2:30. This off road course will consist of hills, curves, obstacles, a flyover and most importantly delicious Deschutes beer! Not to mention the bragging rights you'll have over your friends that you challenged.   Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 Male and Female finishers. There will also be raffle prizes which your bib will act as your ticket.     As mentioned before, top cyclocross professionals will race right after the completion of the beer mile. So after you complete this beer mile you will be ready to cheer on and witness some high level cyclocross.    So get those training miles in, enjoy some beers, and challenge your friends to join you in this one of a kind race. September 30, 2017 at 2:30 pm.

 

Race Rules:

Beer (12 oz) must be consumed and cup held over head to prove empty before beginning each lap (Repeat x4) No intentional contact with other runners No sharing of beer with bystanders If you feel the need to be sick, please try to find one of the many trash cans that will be provided Mandatory high fives to each other after completing the race Most importantly have fun, laugh, and give yourself a pat on the back because you just ran a beer mile
