About the event

On April 16th 2023, the Rome Appia Run will take place - the only event in the world where you can experience five different terrains (asphalt, sampietrino, lava paved, dirt and track). Giacomo Leone, the winner of the New York Marathon in 1996, Franca Fiacconi, who dominated in New York in 1998, and Maria Guida, the European Champion in Monaco in 2002, are some of the renowned middle distance athletes who have participated in the 13 km race over the past 21 years. Along the way, you'll be able to admire some iconic historical monuments of Imperial Rome, such as the Baths of Caracalla, the Arch of Drusus, Porta San Sebastiano, the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, the Sacred Wood, the Nymphaeum of Egeria, the Quo Vadis, and many others. Rome now recognizes the great event and there won't be any other running events in the capital that weekend. This is a great achievement for our organization and we would like to share it with you. Your participation will allow us to continue our solidarity operations.
