About the event

Following a very successful first annual Rousay Peedie Lap 5K race last year the REW DT has now made this an annual event and the 2019 Peedie Lap will be taking place on Saturday 08 June 2019 starting at 12 noon. This is a free adult and children’s fun race and participants can run or walk from the top of the Pier Road (by the War Memorial) to the fire station and back on the beautiful island of Rousay. Primary age children can, if they prefer, cycle with their parents/guardians, but this is not an adult cycle race, but more of a ‘fun’ running or walking event.

Registration is from 10 a.m. at the Rousay Heritage Centre.

The Lap is funded by the Rousay, Egilsay & Wyre Development Trust and is open to all ages and abilities, but under 16s must have their parent or guardian sign the entrance form and under 12s must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. All finishers will be issued with a finishers certificate and a Rousay Peedie Lap medal.

This year the REW Development Trust will be collecting for the RNLI both at the registration and finish line; all donations are very welcome. Individual water bottles have been kindly donated by Tesco and finish line water has been donated by Scottish Water - our thanks to both companies for their support.

For an entry form, please email [email protected] or contact the office on 01856 821229 by Wednesday 05 June. Or, just come along on the day and register before the race.

Please remember to book your ferry travel to Rousay: the Tingwall office phone number is 01856 751360.
Come along and join in the fun, we look forward to seeing you on race day
