Run For A Cure - Easton

Welcome to the Run for a Cure 5k page, ran by Team Brodhead's Heroes. Together, we are participating in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society's Students of the Year Campaign, in which students across America compete in raising money and awareness for blood cancer. We started raising money for LLS in 2016, after witnessing our teacher and best friend, Mrs. Jena Brodhead, fight against Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. During the 2018-2019 school year, we raised $43,000 for LLS; but the battle isn't over yet.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

Please join us in our Run for the Cure Virtual 5k race to help change the face of blood cancer! This race can be completed anywhere across the country, on treadmills, parks, streets, trails, etc! Of course, please follow any COVID-19 restrictions if present. Run, jog, or walk-- lace up those sneakers and get moving for LLS! After you complete the 5k, click the "Results" tab to record your time.  Those with the top three times will get an Easton Hero Squad T-Shirt!
