Race Update (March 7): The participant pre-race email has been sent out to all participants. Pictures of course conditions have been posted to this website - click here. The snowy road section in the pictures are from the upper marathon course. The snowy trail pictures are from North Backbone. The next few days should dry out the trails even more, and the trails on race day should be in good shape - about 95% dry for the half marathon and lower marathon course, and a mix of snow/ice/mud for some of the upper stretches of the marathon course, especially on FR 181 and CR 173. There will be race day registration for the 2 mile run only.
2023 Results can be found by clicking here throughout race day.
The 18th Annual Run Through Time Marathon, Half Marathon, and 2 Mile Run will take place on Saturday, March 11, in Salida, CO. These beautiful, challenging courses are run on dirt/jeep roads and narrow, hilly single track with fantastic views of Salida and the Arkansas Valley. Elevations range from 7000-9000 feet. Foot travel only. There is a 7 1/2 hour time limit for the marathon, and a 5 hour time limit for the half marathon. No crews or pacers on either course. Prizes will be awarded to the top three M/F in each race and top three F/M in each 10 year age group. A light hot meal will be available at the finish for contestants. All registered runners will receive custom race socks. There is a 500 person combined limit for the half marathon and full marathon (split mostly evenly between the two events).
Race takes place on the Arkansas Hills Trail System, BLM and Forest Service land, and Chaffee County and City of Salida roads and property. Donations from proceeds from this event will be made to Salida Mountain Trails and Chaffee County Search and Rescue-South (over the last 14 years, over $55,000 from race proceeds has been donated). We greatly appreciate their support of this event, and their contributions to the Chaffee County community in general!
There will also be a 2 mile run (first 2 dirt road miles of the marathon and half marathon course), and a free kids’ 400 meter run, which will take place in Riverside Park. Please contact Kristy Falcon at [email protected] with any questions or if you are interested in sponsoring or volunteering at this event.
