Run With The Wild 5k

Join us for the 2nd Annual Run With The Wild 5k, a community-oriented 5k run/walk that is suitable for individuals of all ages, families, and even our furry friends!  This event will be held in the beautifully scenic Columbia River Gorge, commencing at the Mark O. Hatfield (West Entrance) Trailhead.  This paved route is ADA accessible, allowing for wheelchairs and strollers, and offers breathtaking along the way. All proceeds for this event will be donated to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. Additionally, a silent auction an event drawing will be held -  enter for your chance to win amazing prizes from local PNW businesses.  

Show support for your firefighters & their families and have fun doing it!

WHEN: April 13, 2024.  Check-in opens at 07:30, 5k start time is 10:00.

WHY: Wildland firefighting is a tremendously hazardous job.  Our firefighters are exposed to physical, mental and emotional challenges each and every day in the field while protecting us, our property, and our land.  Proceeds from your participation are donated to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.  The mission of WFF is to support the families of firefighters who have perished or been injured in the line of duty -- their role during medical emergencies and fatality events cannot be understated.  Learn more here: https://wffoundation.org/

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Driving I-84 East, exit 64 for Highway 35, White Salmon & Gov't Camp. After exiting, turn right at the Stop sign and then make another right turn. Head up for 0.4mi to a four-way intersection.  Turn left here for the Historic Highway State Park.  Wind up the hill for 1.2miles and turn left into the parking area at Mark O. PARKING: Parking is extremely limited at the event location, there are under 30 parking spots available - carpooling is strongly encouraged. Free shuttle will be available from overflow lots to event site.  Details to follow.
