About the event
The Siberian International Marathon (SIM) has been a major sporting and cultural event in Russia for over 30 years, boasting an impressive level of organization and drawing large numbers of participants and spectators. Founded in 1990 by Dmitri Khodko and Sergei Govrilov, SIM is held annually in Omsk as part of the City Days celebrations in the week of St. Ilya's Day, which falls on the first Saturday of August. This event serves as a way to introduce Omsk to foreigners, allowing them to experience the city and its culture firsthand.
