Southern Maryland Community Network is a non-profit mental health agency that provides community-based behavioral health services to youth and adults that suffer from severe mental illnesses. Proceeds from this race benefit SMCN’s community mental health programs in the Tri-County area and the Eric Weems Memorial Scholarship. Your support can directly impact over 1,174 consumers by helping us to provide rehabilitative, employment, residential, in-home interventions, case management, and homeless services. Please consider joining us to change lives and fight the stigma of mental illness by donating to our cause. This race is part of the Chesapeake Bay Running Club’s Grand Prix Series!
What is our Hybrid 5K?
On January 8, 2022, we will host an in-person 5K Race/Walk at Hallowing Point Park in Prince Frederick, MD. It will include a light breakfast and post-race light lunch along with other fun activities! Our Virtual 5K Run, walk, bike or swim 3.1 miles at your own pace and on your own time between January 1st through January 31st. You can choose your method and location. Run or walk a nearby street or trail, hop on the treadmill or rower, take a swim at an area pool or get out on your bicycle. You can also break up the distance over a few days if you cannot complete the entire length at once. Get your family, friends, or even your pets involved and have them participate with you! Start the New Year with healthy activity and support a great cause!
Share your Virtual 5K experience online; we would love to see your photos! Post a picture of your participation online (it doesn’t have to be a selfie) using #SMCNVirtual5K SMCN FB
