Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4 Mile Run

The South Mountain Heritage Society (SMHS) Spook Hill Cider & Wine 4 Mile Run provides participants the unique opportunity to run through historic Burkittsville, Union Cemetery, the Boordy Vineyard and the Distillery Lane Ciderworks orchard via a mix of paved and cross-country type surfaces.   The 2015 race sold out-early registration is recommended!  RacineMultiSports will be bib-chip timing the 2016 run. Accolades:  Spook Hill was named by Competitor.com in 2014 as a "Must Do" fall race in the Mid-Atlantic Region.  The race also appeared in the "Races & Places" feature in the October, 2015 edition of Runner's World.  Spook Hill is also a Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club "Grand Prix Series" event. Race Date: Saturday, October 22, 2016. 8:30 A.M.  Registration: (no added processing fees) Through May 31, 2016: $28.95 June 1, 2016 through September 15, 2016: $30.95 September 16, 2016 through October 18, 2016:  $33.95 Race Day Registration-IF slots are still available: $40, cash or check only.   Race Day Schedule:  7:00 - 8:15  Packet Pickup (and Race Day Registration if slots still available)  8:30 Race Start 9:40 Awards /Door Prize Ceremony Begins 10:00 Awards Ceremony Ends 10:00 Distillery Lane Ciderworks tasting room open for business.  Show your bib at Ciderworks on race morning and get $5.00 off on any purchase over $30. 11:00  The Little Red Barn Ice Cream Cafe, just off of Rte 340 in Jefferson opens.  Show your Spook Hill bib to receive a free kiddie sized cup of "Road Runner Raspberry" or soft serve ice cream on race day.  This is a great place to grab lunch as you head back home after visiting Ciderworks.
