Summer Solstice Endurance Run

Welcome to the 18th Annual Summer Solstice Endurance Runs! This is your chance to test your limits on a warm night in West Texas. Whether you're up for a challenge or prefer a shorter distance, there's also a 5 Mile Race option. The event takes place at Redbud Park in South Abilene, easily found with the map available during online registration. Runners and walkers will begin at 9:00 PM, tackling a one-mile loop within the park, free from street crossings and well-lit after dark. An aid station will support you with essentials like Gatorade, water, and typical ultra race snacks including peanuts, chips, Oreos, M&Ms, and last year's highlight: WATERMELON! Bring a water bottle or hydration pack to refill after each loop. You're encouraged to bring a lawn chair and a drop bag for your gear, to be placed near the start/finish area. A flashlight might be useful for your drop bag, but not needed on the course. Post-race, enjoy complimentary food provided by local merchants. The Abilene Runners Club will chip-time the event, providing you with your total laps, distance, and finishing time. Marathon Maniacs aiming for 26.2 miles need to complete 27 loops for Maniac points, with results published on the Marathon Maniac website.
